Harm-Jan Weevers

In the first phase of the development, we sought the most distinguishing characteristics of Harm-Jan Weevers Photography. These are the focus on innovation, process-oriented approach and a narrative outcome. This was the starting point for the visual creation.

The innovative part can be seen by the choice to put visual symbolism in the identity first. This choice is not usual for a photographer so it increases the recognizability.

Innovation can also be seen in the colour development. The icon has a gradient from glossy metallic blue in an upward spiral to matt fluor-red. We developed these colours specifically for this project to increase the uniqueness.

The previously mentioned process-oriented approach means that the result does not come from one shot but grows step by step. This can be seen in the growing aperture parts of this icon.

The narrative aspect deals with the aim of Weevers to start a dialogue by using photography. It is no coincidence that the icon can also be seen as an opening quotation mark.
